SUMMARY:Transnational Political Contention and the protection of rights and democracy in Europe
DESCRIPTION:Transnational political dynamics are growing: some question the EU liberal order\, while others contribute to strengthening democratic guarantees at the European and domestic level as well in candidate countries. The TraPoCo (Transnational Political Contention in Europe) Jean Monnet network contributed to developing a field of research that looks at the interaction of practices and processes that cross the borders of nation-states and have an impact on the functioning of democracy inside and outside the Union. \nTraPoCo scholars focused on the advancement of research on the practices of mobilisation and protest of actors such as social movements\, activists\, civil society organisations\, trade unions\, etc. in transnational political arenas on issues relating to European integration. In particular\, TraPoCo looked at how\, in what forms\, and under what conditions the societal actors that work for the enlargement of the space of fundamental rights benefit from transnational political spaces at EU level and\, in turn\, contribute to European integration in some form and reinvigorate democracy in the EU and its Member States. \nThis event will be an opportunity for TraPoCo partners to share their most cutting-edge research outcomes with civil society and policy-makers\, with a focus on policy implications at the EU level. \nThe event will be held in person at Maastricht University Brussels  . DESCRIPTION:Conferenza stampa aperta alla cittadinanza \nAlle ore 12.00 del 4 maggio 2023 si terrà\, presso l’Urban Center di Rovereto\, la conferenza stampa conclusiva del kick-off meeting del progetto “Lungo le vie dell’ACQUA: Ambiente\, Cultura\, QUAlità di Vita per Educare alla Cittadinanza Globale” cofinanziato dall’Agenzia Italiana per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo (CodiceAID 012618/01/7). \nI partner dei tre territori coinvolti – Rovereto\, Cuneo e Mantova – si incontrano per un momento di conoscenza e formazione. Durante questo incontro sono presenti anche i membri dei Gruppi di Lavoro Locale dei tre territori. Questi Gruppi sono chiamati a formulare per ciascun territorio un piano comunale di Educazione alla Cittadinanza Globale (ECG) secondo un approccio multiattore e a partire dal tema della gestione responsabile dell’acqua e del contrasto al cambiamento climatico in un’ottica comunitaria. \nL’evento si svolge nella cornice della Settimana Civica di Rovereto\, momento di celebrazione della cittadinanza che quest’anno pone particolare attenzione al tema dell’acqua\, grazie alla forte partecipazione delle associazioni del territorio mobilitate su questo tema. \nL’incontro rappresenta un’occasione di scambio rispetto agli esempi virtuosi provenienti dai territori\, ma anche un momento di avvio ufficiale dei lavori su ciascun territorio\, verso l’attivazione di comunità educanti multiattore\, obiettivo del progetto ACQUA.
